Description
Based on the same photograph as "Highland Loch 1", but using watercolour techniques to render more "typical" Highland weather.
So I was going for overcast and threatening....
I'll probably attempt other renditions of the same scene over time, as I think it's a useful exercise in technique.

Well..... you asked for it...... so here goes:
I think you did a marvelous job on the sky! The colours are brilliant and you captured that overcast/ threatening storm atmosphere to perfection.
I like the far hills, and the landmass in the middle distance and the water also look good.
The foreground is where it falls apart for me. It isn't the colours - they work fine with the purple. And the small grassy bit on the lower left is OK too.
But for the rest of the greenery - oh dear. It looks terribly flat, like an afterthought really. I think you definitely need to work some more on your "greenery technique".
Don't know if you could lift the greens and start over again - depends on your paper and, of course, on the trouble you are willing to go to in order to improve this painting. I think you should give it a try though: with bettery greenery this could be one lovely painting!
Cheerio!
